www.moenormangolf.com – “Little Moe” Todd Graves explains Moe Norman’s golf swing. He compares it to the swings you see on tour every week, and goes through the basic fundamentals of Moe’s swing and the why’s behind Moe Norman’s ball striking genius. www.swinglikemoe.com The Graves Golf Academy is the world’s foremost authority on the swing of Moe Norman, a man regarded by many as the world’s greatest ballstriker. Moe Norman told a reporter in an interview that Todd Graves, aka “Little Moe”, was the ONLY person who could teach his (Norman’s) swing. Moe’s quote, “(Todd) is only one who really knows it. Really knows it. Other guys just think they do.”. See www.swinglikemoe.com or www.moenormangolf.com for more information

This method works – i have been testing it for the last few months. It really is a superbly elegant solution to the swing’s seeming complexities. I cannot recommend it enough. Enjoy the MAsters everyone.

Moe is using a 10 finger grip in the video. Throughout his playing career, however, he used and overlapping grip.

Is he using a baseball grip? And if so, why?

@TinaRocks19 the balls all end up in the same spot. anyone who has ever seen him hit balls live can attest to this.

how do i learn this swing? thanks
April 26th, 2010 at 5:50 pm
How many majors did Moe win with that swing?
April 26th, 2010 at 6:12 pm
His swing is good for people confused with the traditional swing. It seems less complicated.

I just attempted to follow his technique just in my room and it felt alot comfortable and simple. I haven’t played golf for years but when I go back to it I’ll give his technique a try. His swing felt alot a flatter but better rythm.

Who’s posting negative ratings to this comment ? What’s wrong with what Hoganfan is saying?
Moe’s swing makes perfect sense to me!

I believe that Moe’s single plane swing is the most efficient and simple golf swing for all level of players. But still I can not understand why double digit handicappers should not put the ball like Moe did (far behind the ball).

anyone know if there’s video where we can see where the ball ends up? hitting at some targets perhaps? This guy seems unreal!
April 26th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
Wow, I can’t believe Tiger doesn’t swing like this.

nice analysis

Great swing! So, the swing varies from each of them.

Am on 15 at the moment and frustrated with lack of progress due to a slice and old habits. Came across moe’s one plane and the slice is gone. The accuracy is there and when it’s not it’s the timing which I am working on. Was at the range today with my father who has the most wicked slice in the world. I told him to bend forward, arms out, one plane etc and he started hitting them straight. He was amazed. At first I was hitting shorter but everything now is the same distance if not longer.

If this swing was the answer or may I say is the answer. Why hasn’t there been a revolution towards this swing on the tour?
April 26th, 2010 at 10:54 pm
swinging using these fundementals vs traditional fundementals (which i have used for years) i hit my driver dead straight, and 30 yards further, now hitting about 310-320 with driver, and around 195 with 7iron. each and every shot dead straight or a small cut. never taking more than a few blades of grass with the shot, no divot. im a 3 handicap at the moment, if this carries on ill be scratch in no time.

With a such a swing do you need other lies for your clubs?
April 26th, 2010 at 11:35 pm
Wow!! How come its taken me 25 years to find this. Moe has the answer I mean really! Unbelievable. Inspiring . Truly. If only one can put these swing principles into action and see real results – it would be a triumph deluxe. Thank you so much Moe! and to the graves golf academy.

Yes. In any full swing, full power shots, the Single Plane positions are maintained.

The feet lift well after impact and release. It was impact that I was talking about.
April 27th, 2010 at 1:27 am
The distance Moe stood from the ball was significant in the fact that he created enough distance to impact on the same plane with the club as address. In actuality, if a conventional golfer has the same length club as Moe, he will be the same distance from the ball at impact as Moe, but he will move vertically (upward) at impact. Moe did not need vertical movement in his swing action. This is why he was the best ball striker the world has ever known.

In the first of the two video segments, you point out that his feed do not lift. Yet, in the second segment, his right foot pivots and he ends up on his toes. Did the first segment stop before he lifts the right foot, or are they two different swings for two different purposes?
April 27th, 2010 at 2:51 am
One thing, people I know who have tried it, are turned off by how far from the ball he stands.I found that you can stay close or closer to the ball with his sinlge axis grip.Standing that far from the ball takes alot of getting use to.U don’t have to.He makes a weight shift (left)even w his rt.ft in the ground, that an anti hook move because of the strong right hand..The key to Moe’s move was his short backswing and fall into the slot automatically while shifting left-same as Hogan.
