Great video. One of the best I’ve seen. It demonstrates how to create controlled power in a golf swing. Study this swing and you will also have controlled power.
@jase1311, I would put my swing up against Tiger’s swing anyday… the only difference is that my ball doesn’t go where I want it to and usually Tiger’s goes exactly where he wants it to.
This swing is really great… but I have a clip of Tiger and his swing is just awful. He takes the club back WAY past parallel and then hangs back through impact. God awful swing there… but of course the swing I am referring to was on the Mike Douglas show and Tiger was only two years old.. BUT… definitely not the greatest there for sure.
As good a release of the forearms as any player who’s ever lived. IMHO, that and his ability to keep his shoulders responding to the swing instead of shoulders dragging the arms through impact are the two things that give him such ridiculous contact on such a high percentage of swings. If they went back to blades, persimmon, and balata, believe me, as many times as he hits the sweet spot, the gap between him and the 1Bs would be even bigger (and the bottom half of the field would shoot 75).
umm, whoever wrote that thing at 0:12 is wrong, he does take away the club with arms and upperbody, but there is tremendous hinge in his wrists, which is exactly what you need. just look at the angle of his arm to the club shaft at 0:35
I think he uses the interlock……..I am not positive, but if you watch the video above and pause it around 0:10, it looks exactly the same as the grip that I use and I know I use the interlock.
By the way, Tiger actually uses different grips for differents shots. Like for chips shots and certain others, he will use a different grip.

Great swing, wish I could arc like that.
Were subtitles really necessary though? I can’t watch the swing and read his text at the same time. Had to replay it a few times….
