Golf Swing Tips

Posted on 20 August 2008 by admin

Basic golf tips are very important because if you follow some basic tips you can strike heavy shots, hooks and slices easily. Instead of getting depressed and vowing to golf court that you’ll never come back, just follow and bring in practice few tips regarding golf swing and strive perfection in your golf swing.

Getting tips from a golf coach is a costly affair and you need heavy amounts to pay to coach. However you can get some very essential tips from here. Following are few tips which deal with fundamentals of golf swing.

The most important tip and the first thing to do is to maintain a square clubface. Square clubface helps the ball go straight and long. It’s easy to use and handle. To maintain a clubface square you should keep a steady golf swing plane. You should practice to bring the golf club right back and have a good follow through in the same plane.

Next thing after you learn to hit straight is timing. Timing is crucial in a golf swing. Your swing should be steady throughout the whole swing. You should never try to slow down or speed up in jerks. Your golf swing should be smooth.

Golf fitness is also very important. You should exercise daily and you should practice golf daily. Lack of practice and exercise can lead to shaky movements in your hands and then you’ll not be able to have a clean golf swing.

Hip rotation is very important in golf swing. You should see the hip rotation of professional players. You should see the difference is hip rotation in close and long range shots. Hip rotation is a primary factor in accuracy and distance of a shot.

Your style of gripping is also very important. It can play a crucial part in your game. Make sure that your grip is not rigid and is flexible. A rigid golf grip can hamper the quality of your shots and result in loose and vague golf swings. An effective way to determine whether you have a good grip is by playing golf for three hours and if you have sour hands and arms than you have a tight grip. So you should change your grip in such a way that your arms and hands get sour after playing golf.

Another important tip is practice. Only practice makes a man perfect and nothing else can replace it. You should practice hard. An important thing to remember while practicing is that you should overcome your faults. You should not practice faulty gameplay because if you’ll not realize your mistakes then you’ll be perfect in making mistakes. So, keep improving and realizing your mistakes.

Last thing is that you should never underestimate close shots. I have seen people practicing long shots for hours and they ignore the close range shots. You should never do that. Remember that close range shots need high accuracy. Therefore, you should devote equal time to both long and short range shots.

Your Golf to the Next Level?

Posted on 02 June 2008 by admin

Most seasoned golf players will tell you that balance is one of the key factors in your performance in a game of golf. If you fail to keep your balance while you swing, it becomes almost impossible to have a good stroke. Although keeping your balance might sound simple, it is anything but that. Many golfers are incapable of keeping their balance as they are far too tense, have a stiff composure, and attempt to strike the ball with far too much force.

As beginners, golfers are warned to refrain from striking the ball too hard. Why? Because they don’t know how to appropriately focus the energy of their swing to achieve the best result. When you’re able to focus the force of your swing to the center of the golf ball, the ball moves as it should to your desired location. Having a balanced posture allows you to strike the ball in the appropriate location and thus move it to where it needs to go.

While preparing to swing, make sure to avoid moving your head. You also want to keep your eyes glued to the ball. The better you are at keeping your head still, the more ease you will have in seeing the ball. Keeping a still head is the first step in achieving bodily balance. To get closer to achieving perfect balance, be sure to avoid anything which may distract you or cause you to shift position. Such a distraction can make it impossible for you to keep your eyes on the ball. As you proceed to swing, continue to keep your head and body still. Whenever you want to achieve some degree of balance, you need relax both your body and muscles. Failure to relax either will encourage your head to move and thus compromise your performance in a golf game.

It may be helpful to observe yourself in a mirror to see what effect muscle relaxation has on your head. You will find that failure to relax your muscles will incline your head to move. Remember, not all of us golfers are the identical. As such, you will need to experiment with various ways to relax your muscles. The end goal is to keep your head in a fixed position from the beginning to the end of a swing. By doing this, you will allot yourself the opportunity to watch the ball and strike it at the correct moment.

You’d be surprised at how many issues are resolved by keeping your head in a still position. Many golfers have found it difficult to grip their clubs incorrectly while conforming to a still posture.
Focusing on your balance and the stillness of your head will work wonders in terms of keeping your from pulling your club away or striking the ball too hard. It becomes almost impossible to strike the ball with too much force when you conform to the proper golfing posture. Thus, your swings should produce the desired results.

Maintaining a proper balance is paramount in golf. While your progress won’t be immediately apparent, you will eventually notice a big improvement. Keep your head still and your body in balance and you’re guaranteed to start seeing results.

How to Choose The Best Golf Bag

Posted on 02 June 2008 by admin

As well as your clubs, your golf bag is one of the most important items you’ll need in golf. It not only helps to carry your clubs around the course with you but is also used to store other items, such as tees, balls, umbrella, towels and more. It also helps to protect your clubs from any damage.

Choosing which golf bag will be right for you, will take some consideration as there are a number of factors to consider. Will you be carrying the bag around yourself? In which case, you will need one capable of carrying all your golf accessories and also comfortable and light enough to carry.

Do you use an electric trolley? If so, then you might be able to consider buying a slightly larger golf bag because the weight won’t be as much of a worry. It would then allow you to carry more items without it being a major factor.

Staff bags are quite popular and the largest of golf bags you can buy. They have easily enough room to carry a full set of clubs and generally have many additional pockets for you to store all your other accessories into. These are the favourites of the professional players, as it is almost certainly their poor caddie who has to carry all the weight! Primarily, all staff bags will be made out of quality leather and will be in the mid-high price range of all golf bags.

Carry bags are smaller versions of staff bags. These will only carry a few clubs but are ideal if you just want to take a few clubs out to practise with. They are very inexpensive and often made out of plastic.

So choosing which golf bag is right for you, really depends how often you play and how many golf items you carry with you. Just be sure to shop around and have a look on the internet, as this can often be cheaper than the high street.
